(2006) From #191 "Cordially Invited" (August 21, 2006) to #225 "Unknown Sender" (October 03, 2006)
Valerie Hanley-Holden returned to town in time for the party and to arouse suspicions from her husband, Simon, about where she'd really been and to irritate her son, Matt, who still resents his mother for keeping his true paternity a secret from Simon. Valerie had enough on her mind, however, as she focused on finding out more secrets from Melissa Maddock's past. Her brother, Michael, was dealing with his own secrets as Mark stumbled across the secret panel in Michael's study. Initially attempting to wreak havoc on Vince's life by pretending that the security guard at the party shot him, Mark decided to use his knowledge of Michael's secrets to blackmail him. Meanwhile, Michael's secret the very much alive Sean Moore continued living his life in the nearby city of Fordham, unaware that his also-presumed-dead brother, Derek, was slowly manipulating him into pursuing a relationship with one of their neighbors in an effort to drive a wedge between Sean and his family. Michael Thomas finally awoke from his coma, only to run into Vince and learn everything that's happened since he's been gone. The extenuating circumstances of his presence in Marquette Cove caused Thomas to reconsider his ties to the town and leave without saying goodbye to his brother, Blake. Morris was arrested for buying drugs, leaving Kelli to bail him out of jail. Robert's anger with Darren for "ebmarrassing" their family reached a boiling point, pushing his nephew away from him, yet also pushing Darren closer to Blake, as the two finally set a time for their first date. The Moore family experienced a few triumphs as Leslie was promoted at Hanley Enterprises and Akilah's relationship with Alec continued to grow. Things didn't go so well for Vince, however, who continued to clash with rival Mark as he grew suspicious of Mark's relationship with his new father figure, Michael, as well as Michael's own interest in Vince's family. Michael had other schemes on his mind as well, as he helped Valerie turn one of his associates into the spitting image of the deceased Victor Lopez. Intent on figuring out Melissa's secret connection to Victor, Valerie used the Victor replica to haunt Melissa.
Morris was given community service for drug possession. Sean continued his relationship with Denise, unaware of his real identity, and they had sex, angering Denise's son. Mark continued to blackmail Michael with the evidence of Sean's whereabouts. Joel became jealous when he discovered that Anna was dating a co-worker, but he began a friendship with newly single Felicia Bale when they both ended up in the same AA meeting. Blake and Darren finally had sex, prompting Chris to devise a plan to break up their relationship. Jack Atlas, Darren's ex-boyfriend, arrived in town to help Chris with his scheme. Jack "confessed" to Darren that he was HIV-positive, in the hopes of making Darren think he was as well, so he could break Darren up with Blake. Ricard Branch told Quentin he was done selling drugs for him for good, but he'd angered Quentin and revenge was promised. As the season came to a close, Alec received a mysterious package from an unknown sender...was the information about Ricard's secrets in the package, ready to be revealed? Or something else? |
