GUASTI COSE: FRIDAYS
PROLOGUE "There ain't no motive for this crime."~ Brandon Flowers PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME If Damon Johnson were alive, he wouldn't be surprised that his family didn't bother to fly back from Dubai for his funeral. He wouldn't be surprised to find not a single one of his friends there at the funeral. He was not a liked man, by many people in Marquette Cove. It would be a blow to Damon if the one person he'd counted on in his final days alive would be alive, wasn't there. Even more surprising would be if the very people he terrorized, before he had his throat slashed and his heart torn from his body, were there paying their respects to him. People like Jessica Reyes. He'd be surprised to find a young woman, shrouded in black, standing above his casket. He would be horrified as she stared into his coffin and whispered quietly into his ears... "He wants to speak with you." He would have no idea who this man was. But he would be shocked that this woman, a woman he witnessed the medical examiner performing an autopsy on during his internship at the morgue earlier this week he'd be shocked that she alive and standing above him. He would recognize the name of the man who wanted to speak with him, when she finally let the words escape from her lips... "...Quentin Blood." And when she disappeared, he would be subjected to phony grief of his fellow classmates from Marquette Cove High School as they paraded in and out of the funeral home. Paying their "respects" while secretly lacing up their boots to dance upon his grave. This would be surprising to Damon Johnson if he were alive. And at that moment, within a grand, mahogany casket... unable to move, unable to blink, unable to open his mouth and speak...
...he very much was alive.
Yet things shall always remain... Guasti Cose. |
