ANDERSON HOME

Sunlight streams into Blake Thomas' bedroom as he awakes in Vincent Moore's arms. Smiling, Blake turns to the side and kisses Vince's cheek. After months of going a bitter break- through up and nearly dying after his accident, Blake finally feels like he's winning again.

He just spent the night with his best friend. Someone he'd told himself he could never have a relationship with, and yet...one bottle of Captain Morgan was all it took for them both to finally let their guards down.

Hearing Vince stir, Blake kisses him. "Good morning."

"Good..." Vince stops speaking as he opens his eyes and sees Blake next to him. "Blake? What's going...oh my God."

Vince sits up in bed, quickly covering himself with the bed sheet. "Did we just...did we..."

"Yeah," Blake says. "It was great. You were great. The best...okay, I'm not gonna lie. But it was only your first time, so —"

"What in the fuck?!" Vince leaps out of bed, searching for his clothes on the floor. "What the hell happened last night? I didn't...I didn't have sex with you!"

Confused, Blake sits up on the bed. "What's wrong?"

"Cover that shit up!" Vince says. "I don't want to look at your...oh God..."

Blake rolls his eyes. "Okay, I get it. We can't tell anyone yet. I went through this with Chris the first time we hooked up. And well, we went a little further than that, but I understand. And also, you were fantastic. Are you sure you've never..."

"I didn't have sex with you," Vince says, his voice dripping with anger.

Blake suddenly realizes that Vince isn't kidding.

"Vince, you had sex with me last night," Blake says. "Do you need to look at the used condom in the trash?"

"Shut up!" Vince says, yelling. "You...you got me drunk. And then you took advantage of me. I thought we were friends, but you...you just wanted me, didn't you? You couldn't handle the fact that I'm not gay, and so you had to resort to raping me!"

HOLDEN HOME

Felicia Bale pours a glass of orange juice as Simon Holden enters the kitchen, yawning. She slides the glass toward him and pours herself another. "Here you go."

"Thanks," Simon says.

"Long night?"

"Yeah, I was at the hospital until...about three hours ago, actually."

"Well then, you should eat something," Felicia says. "I can rustle something up."

Simon laughs. "Rustle something up? You are not at all like your sister."

"Thank God for that," Felicia says, joining in the laughter.

"I think I'll just have a bagel though."

"Suit yourself," Felicia says, picking up her glass.

As she turns, she accidentally knocks over the carton of orange juice. She cries out as it spills out onto the floor and nearly slides in the pool. Simon reaches out to grab Felicia, keeping her balance.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine," Felicia says, breathing heavily. "Thank you."

"What's going on in here?"

Felicia and Simon, still holding one another, turn to see Matt entering the kitchen wearing a dark pair of sunglasses.

"Did you just get in?" Simon says.

"I was at the library all night," Matt says. "Studying. Are you two studying?"

Felicia and Simon break apart from one another. She quickly grabs a roll of paper towels as Simon takes a sip from his orange juice and heads for the door.

"We'll talk about your late night when I get home," Simon says, ignoring Matt's narrowed eyes. "Help Felicia clean up that mess."

MARQUETTE COVE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

Alec Bale enters the hospital, finding Detective Jamie Grady leaning against the wall. He taps him on the shoulder, and Jamie slowly turns around. His eyes are red as if he's been crying for hours.

"Detective Grady?" Alec says.

"Alec." Jamie rubs his eyes. "What do you want?"

"I'm here to see Jessica, I heard she was admitted late last night, and her mother is baby-sitting, so..."

"Oh, right," Jamie says. "She's in the room at the end. She just went into shock, is all."

Alec nods. "Okay. Um...are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

Alec decides to leave well enough alone and heads toward Jessica's room. He opens the door, surprised to find his cousin Darren sitting across from her.

"Alec...what are you doing here?" Jessica demands.

"The hospital called me, I just got the message this morning."

"Well, Darren's here, so...you can go," Jessica says.

"What happened?"

Jessica sighs. "Father Grady is dead. I found his body last night in Emerald Square."

Alec approaches Jessica, resting his hand on her shoulder. "Are you...what are those?"

Alec notices the stack of paper next to Darren's sunglasses. He immediately recognizes them, they remind him of the same document he found in Melissa's bedroom the night he attacked her.

"They're divorce papers, Alec," Jessica says. "I signed them."

ANDERSON HOME

"You're seriously tossing out the word rape like that?" Blake says, glaring at Vince. "You're the one who wanted to have sex with me."

"I was drunk," Vince says. "I had no idea what I was doing...but you know that. You know what I'm like when I'm drunk. You took advantage of me."

Blake stands and slides his boxers on. He tries approaching Vince, but he shoves Blake away from him. He stumbles back and falls into his dresser, knocking over his lamp.

"Vince!" Blake cries.

"You took advantage of me!"

"Quit saying that," Blake says, standing. "You just don't want to admit that you're gay."

"I am not gay," Vince says, hovering over Blake. "And you quit calling me that."

"You're just another closeted fag. Pretending you're straight, all the while fucking any guy who gives you a second glance."

"You're fucking warped, you know that?" Vince says. "Stay the hell away from me, Blake. And if you tell anyone what you did to me, I'll kick your ass."

Vince grabs the rest of his clothes and goes toward the door. He doesn't bother to look back and see if Blake is okay.

Blake watches as his best friend leaves, all the while banging his head against the wall. Last night was so clear in his mind. So vivid. He thought he'd finally had that one moment of happiness he hadn't been able to experience without a mess of hell raining down on him afterward.

But it's all horribly clear to Blake that happiness is something he'll never know.
