(2008) From #252 "Doll Parts" (July 21, 2008) to #295 "There Won't Be Snowflakes" (December 24, 2008) The seventh season of began with a night full of death and shocking returns. The gunshot fired by Alec Bale missed his father Robert, and accidentally killed his stepmother Melissa Bale. The mysterious Man in White, who was soon revealed to be Melissa's brother Kyle Maddock, back from the dead witnessed the event. As he plotted revenge against the people responsible for his sister's death, Alec was arrested for murder. Felicia Bale was horrified to discover the real reason Alec tried killing Robert... he had resurfaced suppressed memories of childhood abuse at the hands of his father. Alec was soon released on bail and moved back in with Felicia. The Moore family dealt with a resurrection and loss of their own in the new season. As Leslie Moore prepared to tell Michael Hanley she was pregnant with his child, she was surprised as her first husband Sean Moore appeared at the mansion. Before she could figure out what happened to him, he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. When he awoke, surrounded by his stunned family, Sean couldn't remember any of his life with them... he instead had the memories of Elizabeth Hanley, Michael's deceased wife. When Vince returned home, he discovered his sister Akilah's fallen cell phone and deduced that something must have happened to her. Now, even with the return of their family patriarch, the Moore family was reeling from Akilah's disappearance.
Blake Thomas began to date Eric Hanley, Vince's stepbrother. This upset Aaron Maddock, who was still in love with Blake. Eric convinced Aaron that he was only dating Blake to keep him away from Darren. With the pain he was bringing to Darren keeping him happy, Eric was also overjoyed by the fact that his mother Elizabeth was back, albeit in the form of Sean. Michael was horrified to discover that Eric was responsible for engineering the placement of Elizabeth's memories in Sean's mind. Michael confronted Dr. Collins, the man responsible for wiping Sean's memories, who admitted that Eric had blackmailed him into implanting Sean's mind. Michael gunned down Dr. Collins for his betrayal and feared that if Eric knew his secrets, it wouldn't be long before the rest of Marquette Cove knew as well. As Sean recuperated at the hospital, Denise Price finally arrived in town looking for her missing husband. Leslie was stunned to discover that Sean had been married with an entirely new life in New York, while Denise was equally surprised to discover her husband "Simon Price" was really Sean Moore. Michael convinced everyone that Sean must have survived his car accident and contracted amnesia, leading him to believe he was Simon Price for so many years. He offered up his mansion to Sean and Denise, hoping they would rekindle their romance and he could keep Leslie as his wife. Akilah Moore unexpectedly showed up at the hospital with no recollection of her kidnapping. Her best friend, Julia Mitchell, and Chris Server seemed to know more about the disappearance than they let on, but Leslie was merely happy to have her daughter back home. Vince was more concerned, however, and continued to press Akilah on what happened to her. Akilah soon received a distress call from Sara Reynolds, direct from South Africa. She claimed that Kelli Anderson had gone missing and she desperately needed help. Once Akilah hung up the phone, she forgot the entire conversation.
Robert's reputation remained on life support in Marquette Cove. As he pressed for Alec to be charged with Melissa's murder, Alec made a deal with Michael to have his father's life destroyed. Michael used Robert's law partner and nephew, Darren Reynolds, to uncover the fact that Michael had faked Felicia's father's will several years ago to cut her out of it. This information was enough to have Robert's license to practice law revoked and his practice closed down. Though he celebrated his victory over Robert, Alec was struck with a new blow as Jessica signed her divorce papers and delivered them to Alec. He ripped them apart and refused to sign. Sara managed to call Marquette Cove again, this time reaching Vince. He borrowed Michael's jet to fly to South Africa and rescue Jessica, with Akilah and Julia tagging along. Alec stowed away on the jet to avoid dealing with Jessica, while Chris also hid among the cargo to ensure that Quentin's plans would come to fruition. Vince and his friends landed in Polokwane, South Africa where they soon realized that Matt Holden had followed them as well. Vince knew how much Matt still cared about his sister, so he allowed him to stay as Vince and Alec investigated the caves where Kelli was last seen. Finally left alone, Chris took the opportunity to knock Matt unconscious and stash his body away. Julia, also under Quentin's control, helped Chris to activate Akilah's mental trigger. Sara stumbled upon them and was killed before she was able to warn Vince and Alec. Julia was able to break free of Quentin's hypnotic control long enough to find Kelli hidden within the caves. After she freed Kelli, Julia was snatched up by Quentin and told she'd be the blood sacrifice for Akilah and Chris' wedding if Kelli was not found. The newly freed Kelli ran into Alec and Vince in the caves, where the three were soon trapped with an entire mass of cannibalistic vampires.
Joel finally awoke from his coma and managed to tell Leslie about Quentin Blood kidnapping Akilah. Leslie departed for South Africa with Michael and Felicia in tow, hoping they could save their children in time. Alec, Kelli and Vince managed to escape from the vampires, only to stumble upon Akilah and Chris' wedding. Kelli was killed as a blood sacrifice, and the wedding continued. After they exchanged their vows, Leslie and Michael arrived and were horrified at what they found. Quentin explained that Akilah was his daughter and that Leslie was the woman he raped years ago. Leslie cleared things up for Quentin, revealing that she had never been raped, but her mother had been. Which meant that Leslie was Quentin's daughter and not Akilah. Leslie asked for a private meeting with Quentin, where he drank her blood to discover the truth. It was revealed that she was in fact his daughter, but it also revealed that she had given birth to two children by two different men, exposing the secret she'd kept for so long... that Vince was not Sean's son, but the son of Sean's brother, Derek. Michael overheard this revelation, just before Leslie staked Quentin in the heart and set his body on fire. Chris still planned to have Akilah be with him and tried killing everyone else. Matt managed to awake just in time to save Akilah from Chris, stabbing him in the heart with a wooden stake. With their entire ordeal over, everyone returned to Marquette Cove with the bodies of Sara, Kelli and Chris on board. The true nature of their deaths remained a secret, but their deaths nonetheless devastated many members of the Marquette Cove community. A joint funeral was held to remember the three, and afterward, Kelli's family bid goodbye to Marquette Cove.
Robert became suspicious of Aaron's interactions with Alec and made a trip to Atlantic City, where he visited Hugh Rogers, the man who'd been blackmailing Aaron years ago. He tried to figure out what Hugh was blackmailing Aaron over, but Hugh kept silent. Before Robert left, however, he was approached by Tyler Rogers, Hugh's son. Tyler, still caring deeply for Melissa after nearly believing he was her son last year, had no problem throwing the vile Aaron under the bus. He revealed to Robert that Aaron was being blackmailed over having molested his cousin Kyle when Kyle was only a child. This was all the proof Robert needed that Aaron was the person who had molested his son. Ricard Branch had been released from prison in order to attend Sara's funeral, and on the night he tried to visit her at her grave, he stumbled across Blake mourning Chris. He was also shocked when Chris rose from his grave and ran off into the night. Realizing that Chris was a vampire, much like Quentin Blood, Ric chose to go into hiding and avoid returning to prison until he could avenge Sara's death. Blake searched high and low for Chris, eventually finding him hiding out in Blake's abandoned childhood home. He took it upon himself to rehabilitate Chris. Robert tried to track down Kyle, but Kyle was busy working on his next scheme killing Simon Holden so that Kyle could have a real relationship with his son. As he pressured Rebecca and Kane into helping him, Rebecca finally revealed the truth that Kyle was not even the real Kyle Maddock. She had accidentally killed the real Kyle in a car accident back when she lived in Atlantic City, and now this man was pretending to be Kyle and using her to further his own diabolical schemes.
All was revealed about Michael's scheme to fake Sean's death and erase his memories, but Leslie also discovered that when the memories began to return to Sean, he made the decision to have them all removed so he could remain with Denise in New York. Michael was arrested and carted off to prison, while Leslie cast Sean out of her life for good. After standing strong against both men, once she was left alone with her children and Robert, Leslie finally crumbled into tears. Return to Recaps | Read 2009 Recap |
