"Excuse me, my fiancée was brought in here. Melissa Maddock?" The Nurse nods. "Yes, sir, she's in Room 232, down the hall to the left." "Thank you," Robert says, hurrying to the room. As he enters, he finds Melissa sitting in bed, holding her cousin, Aaron Maddock's, hand. Aaron glares at Robert. "Nice of you to show." "I came as soon as I could." "Melissa's tried reaching you all day," Aaron continues. "Where were you working on this case, exactly? And which case?" "Aaron, stop it," Melissa says, releasing Aaron's hand. "I have something I need to tell the both of you." "Is something wrong? Are you okay?" Robert demands. "I'm perfectly fine," Melissa says. "But I had a chat with the doctor, and...well, this was when you were out of the room, Aaron." Aaron turns to Melissa, concerned. "What's going on, Mel?" "Well...it's not exactly bad news," Melissa insists. "In fact, while it may be unexpected, it's very good news for us, Robert." "And what's that?" Robert demands. "I'm pregnant." Aaron's jaw drops. "You're what?!" "I'm pregnant," Melissa repeats. "Robert, we're going to have a child of our very own."
Robert stares at ahead at Melissa, unable to even force a smile on his face. But he isn't frowning either. He is simply speechless.
Kelli Anderson looks up at Chris Server, who she had failed to notice arranging files at the desk she decided to rest her coffee on. "I'm here with Jessica, not that it's any of your business," Kelli replies. "Forget I asked," Chris mutters, returning to his work. Kelli sighs. "Look, I'm sorry, Chris. I didn't mean to be so rude." "Oh, but you do," Chris says. "You've been nothing but nasty to me for months. I don't know how many times I'm supposed to apologize for what I did, but it's not like I –" "Pulled the trigger yourself, I know. I'm sorry." "Whatever." After a few moments, Chris tried to move on. "What's up with Jessica?" "You'll have to ask her when she's done with Dr. Collins. I gave her some privacy." As they speak, Jack Atlas approaches the desk and flashes a smile at Kelli and Chris. "Hello, I'm looking for a Dr. Carver." "He wasn't in his office?" Chris asks. "No." "Then I'm sure he's down in the...um, the morgue...I can show you where that is," Chris replies. "See you, Kelli." "Yeah, bye," Kelli says. Chris exits, with Jack following him. Chris approaches an elevator, which is just about to close as someone walks out. He sticks his foot into the elevator to stop it, and then he and Jack board the elevator. Once the doors slide shut, Chris smiles at Jack. Jack stops the elevator and presses Chris against the wall, while simultaneously loosening Chris' belt. "Dr. Carver?" Chris asks, laughing. "From Days of Our Lives," Jack replies. "It was the only thing I could think of."
Chris laughs as Jack begins to kiss his neck. "Uh huh."
Fordham, IL He turns to head toward the theatre where his movie is playing, but he stops when he notices Nate Robertson emerging from the men's restroom. "Hey! Nate!" Simon calls out. "How's it going?" Nate groans and stops, not bothering to smile. "What do you want?" "Just thought I'd say hey," Simon says. "I got off work a bit early, so I thought I'd see a movie and chill out for a while. You?" "I didn't have school today," Nate replies. "Oh, that's right...your mother said something about that." "Is my mother around?" "No, she's not." "Oh, you two aren't attached at the hip? Or the pelvis?" Simon uncomfortably shifts his weight onto his right leg. "Um...what movie are you here to see? "Fearless," Nate mutters. "Oh, me too," Simon says. "Are you here with your friends? If you're not, maybe we could sit together?" Nate rolls his eyes. "Or not." Nate walks away, ignoring Simon as he starts to say something else.
Simon sighs. "Well, that went well."
"Are you sure you don't want your friend back in here?" Dr. Collins asks. "No, she wanted to give me some privacy, it's okay," Jessica replies. "So give me the bad news." "You have Parvovirus B19, which sounds dangerous, but nothing more than a virus that commonly infects humans, particularly pregnant women," Dr. Collins replies. "The illness has the potential to last a few months, but I expect it to clear up in about a week. It's merely been exacerbated by your current condition, but I assure you, you are not in any serious danger, health-wise." "My...my current condition?" "Yes, that brings me to my good news, which is good depending on whether you were expecting it or not." "And what's that?" "Jessica...you're pregnant." "I'm what?!" Jessica cries. "You're..." "I...I heard you the first time," Jessica says, gasping. "You're wrong. You have to be...oh my God. I'm pregnant?" Unable to contain her emotions, Jessica starts screaming. Dr. Collins winces as Jessica shows no signs of needing to stop to catch a breath. executive producer |
