Server Home

Bedroom. Chris Server is lying on his bed with his laptop, looking at Craigslist.

CHRIS: Well, now...who's looking to a buy a car?

Chris' phone rings. He answers.

CHRIS: Hello? [Beat] I was expecting you to call. [Beat] Yeah, I'll have the money soon enough. [Beat] You know exactly where I am. [Beat] Trust me...do this for me, and everything will work out exactly the way we want it.

Chris hangs up.

CHRIS: Looks like I've got a few buyers.

Chris' phone rings again. He answers.

CHRIS: Hello?

Scott Hart is on the other end.

SCOTT: Hey Chris.

CHRIS: What's going on?

SCOTT: I want to see you. You free?

CHRIS: I will be shortly.

SCOTT: How about you meet me at my place?

CHRIS: Sounds good. Later.

Chris hangs up. He pulls up his e-mail, finding one of the responses to his Craigslist posting.

CHRIS: Bingo.

Holden Home

Living Room. Felicia Bale is sitting on the couch with Sara Reynolds.

FELICIA: I'm so glad that you made the decision to stay here, Sara. I've always thought of you as a daughter.

SARA: And I've always felt that way, you know, with my parents being gone all the time.

FELICIA: Well, don't worry about that now. They're in Europe, but I'm here. [Beat] In new living situations, but...that's just the new chapter in both of our lives. And I'm happy for my son and your brother, moving in together...I can't really say I'm disappointed that he chose not to live with his father.

SARA: Aunt Felicia.

FELICIA: I'm sorry. I keep telling myself not to talk about Robert that way in front of you kids.

Valerie Hanley-Holden enters, drinking a bottle of water.

VALERIE: Why not? The tabloids are telling everyone else what a lowlife he is, why shouldn't you do the same?

FELICIA: Honestly, Valerie.

VALERIE: I'm sorry. [Beat] I hope you've both made yourselves at home! There, is that better?

FELICIA: Yes.

VALERIE: I'm going for a run.

FELICIA: I wanted to talk to you first, actually.

VALERIE: Oh. Of course.

SARA: I'm gonna go. I'm going to help Darren finish packing.

FELICIA: Tell him I said hello, sweetie.

VALERIE: Um, yes. Ditto.

Sara exits. Valerie sits down next to Felicia.

VALERIE: What's up, sis? [Beat] Oh...it's still weird saying that.

FELICIA: [Laughs] I know. Listen, I just wanted to thank you again for taking me in. And especially Sara.

VALERIE: You're family, Felicia. Although, Sara technically isn't...but never mind that. You're both family to me. And the more the merrier, I say. Maybe Sara can keep my at times irritating son on his toes.

FELICIA: Maybe.

Felicia stands.

FELICIA: I should get upstairs. I'm going to take a nap, I've been doing a lot of unpacking since this morning.

VALERIE: Have fun.

Felicia exits.

VALERIE: Now, where did I put that damn iPod?

The doorbell rings. Valerie continues drinking from the bottle of water as she walks to the door and opens it, finding a man on her doorstep.

VALERIE: Hello. Can I help...oh my. You're...I think I'm hallucinating. I've been exercising too much.

VICTOR: No, you're not hallucinating at all, Mrs. Holden.

He extends his hand.

VICTOR: Victor Lopez. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Aaron Maddock's Penthouse

Living Room. Aaron Maddock enters and sits down in the chair across from the couch, where Alec Bale and Darren Reynolds are seated.

AARON: All of the paperwork, right here.

ALEC: Thanks, Dr. Maddock.

AARON: You know, you can call me Aaron now. We're practically related.

ALEC: Not if my father finally -

DARREN: [Interrupting] So, um...that lease?

AARON: Yes.

Aaron pushes the sublease across the coffee table.

AARON: Now, once again, since I do own the penthouse and will remain owning it, at least for the time being, I guess I'll be your landlord. I'm at least glad I'm leasing it to someone I know.

DARREN: Well, I'm glad this worked out so well. I have no idea when the house is gonna get sold, so...it all works out for everyone.

AARON: Excellent then.

Aaron picks up a pen and hands it to Darren.

AARON: Here you go.

Emerald Cemetery

Vincent Moore stands in front of his father, Sean Moore's, grave.

VINCE: Hey Dad. I just thought I'd, you know, drop by. It's been a while since we've talked.

Vince sits on the bench across from the grave.

VINCE: Things have been kind of crazy, lately. [Beat] Oh, don't worry, your deadbeat brother hasn't risen from the dead or anything. We're all doing pretty good. [Beat] It's just at school, there's this guy at school who keeps irritating me in that way that Matt used to. [Beat] I just really miss you sometimes. Living with Michael is fine, he's actually a lot greater than I used to think, but it's still not the same as having my Dad here.

Vince's cell phone rings. He answers.

VINCE: Hello?

Leslie Moore is on the other end.

LESLIE: Hey honey.

VINCE: Hey Mom. What's up?

LESLIE: Do you have dinner plans tonight?

VINCE: No. Why?

LESLIE: Your mother just got a promotion at work, baby! And we're going to go out and celebrate in style. Style that I know you're used to these days, but...

VINCE: No, Mom. That's great. That's amazing. I'll be there.

LESLIE: All right. We have reservations at the Emerald Palace at seven.

VINCE: Okay. Bye, Mom.

LESLIE: Goodbye, honey. I love you.

VINCE: I love you, too.

Vince hangs up.

MARK: Aw, I love you too, mommy.

Vince turns around to find Mark Zane.

VINCE: Mark. What the hell are you doing here?

MARK: Watching you weep over your dead daddy. How many years has it been? Six? Get over it, already.

VINCE: Mark...I'm resisting the urge to kick your ass right now. I suggest you leave.

MARK: Or what?

VINCE: Mark! Leave me the fuck alone, all right? I'm visiting my father's grave for Christ's sake. Can't you ever just leave me alone, for once? [Almost crying] We can deal with this at school, but not here!

MARK: Oh please, your Dad isn't even dead.

VINCE: [Beat] What? What did you say?

MARK: You heard me. Your daddy. He's not dead, Vince.
