Hanley Home

Street. Alec Bale is jogging on the sidewalk, listening to his iPod. He stops to change songs, when he notices someone emerging from the mansion.

ALEC: [Softly] It's probably Vince coming to tell me that I'm too close to the lawn.

Jessica Reyes exits the mansion with Vincent Moore.

ALEC: What the hell? Jessica was wearing that yesterday!

Alec dives into a row of bushes, so as not to be seen by them. Jessica and Vince reach the sidewalk.

JESSICA: Thanks again for letting me stay the night, Vince.

VINCE: No problem. Anytime, okay?

JESSICA: Can you stop it?

VINCE: Stop what?

JESSICA: Being so nice to me.

VINCE: Oh, don't worry. This will pass by lunch.

JESSICA: [Laughs] Thanks.

Vince touches Jessica's arm.

JESSICA: I should get going...I have class in a couple of hours.

VINCE: Yeah. No problem.

JESSICA: Let's just, um, not tell anyone that I stayed here?

VINCE: Really? I was gonna send Alec a text message.

JESSICA: Vince!

VINCE: I'm kidding. Lighten up, Ms. Reyes.

Jessica exits. Vince watches her leave before returning to the mansion. Alec stands, angrily removing his headphones from his ear.

ALEC: That son of a bitch.

Anderson Home

Backyard. Chris Server sits in a tree, staring at Blake Thomas' window. The blinds are drawn, however, and he can't see anything.

CHRIS: Come on, Chris. This is a new low, even for you. Staring at Blake while he's sleeping?

Chris' phone rings. He answers.

CHRIS: Hello?

Ricard Branch is on the other line.

RIC: Hey Chris. I need a favor.

CHRIS: A favor? Do you know what time it is?

RIC: Yeah. And it's not like you're not up already and on the prowl.

CHRIS: [Defensively] What's that supposed to mean?

RIC: Morning sales rush?

CHRIS: Oh. [Beat] What do you want?

RIC: I need to give you a couple of clients.

CHRIS: Too busy wooing your little girlfriend?

RIC: Actually, yeah. I've quit.

CHRIS: Huh?

RIC: I quit.

CHRIS: Again? Didn't you quit already before?

RIC: That was Matt.

CHRIS: Whatever. Look, I have a lot on my plate right now.

Chris notices the blinds to Blake's window being drawn, revealing Blake at the window with someone else lying in his bed.

CHRIS: What?! Did Blake...did he...

Darren Reynolds climbs out of the bed, slipping his underwear back on. He kisses Blake on the neck. Blake smiles and kisses him back.

CHRIS: No! This isn't supposed to be happening!

RIC: Chris? Are you even listening to me?

CHRIS: Ric, I can't talk to you right now.

RIC: Chris!

CHRIS: I said not now!

Chris hangs up his phone and tries sliding it into his pocket, but it falls from his hands and lands on a lower branch.

CHRIS: Shit.

Chris tries reaching for the phone, but he accidentally slips as well and falls from the tree, landing with a loud thud in a vegetable garden.

Blake glances out the window, having heard the fall, but seeing no one in the tree, he returns his attention to Darren.

Office. Michael Hanley is sitting behind his desk, taking a look at prints from the Immaculate Collection campaign. There is a knock at his door.

MICHAEL: Come in.

The door opens and Valerie Hanley-Holden enters, carrying a stack of mail.

VALERIE: Brought you your mail.

MICHAEL: To what do I owe the pleasure, Valerie?

VALERIE: I have a favor to ask, big brother.

Valerie closes the door behind her and sets the mail down on his desk.

MICHAEL: If that favor is to be moved to this floor with an office that doesn't have glass walls, then the answer is still no.

VALERIE: I'm not asking for a new office. [Beat] Even though I deserve one. I mean, this isn't even your office, it's our -

MICHAEL: Valerie, what do you want?

VALERIE: I have a problem. And I need a solution.

MICHAEL: The problem?

VALERIE: Melissa.

MICHAEL: I honestly wish you two would learn to play nice.

VALERIE: Uh huh. By the way, aren't you supposed to be having lunch with Robert today?

MICHAEL: Touchˇ.

VALERIE: I already have the solution, I just need you to make it happen. So...what do you say?

MICHAEL: If I do this for you, you're not getting a Christmas present.

VALERIE: You didn't even give me a wedding gift. You still owe me.

MICHAEL: [Smiling] Ah, that's right! Well then. Have a seat and let's talk.

Bale Home

Dining Room. Robert Bale enters the dining room, groaning loudly. He finds Melissa Maddock sitting at the table eating breakfast.

ROBERT: Good morning, honey.

Melissa doesn't respond.

ROBERT: Melissa?

MELISSA: I am not going to discuss last night's events, Robert. But needless to say, it was rather embarrassing.

ROBERT: I don't remember much of last night...

MELISSA: That's a shame.

Robert sits down at the table.

ROBERT: What's for breakfast?

MELISSA: Well, I'm eating scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. You on the other hand? I think I found some Cheerios in the kitchen. They shouldn't have expired more than a couple of weeks ago.

ROBERT: I know what's in my own house, I paid for...I'm sorry. Listen, I don't know what I did last night. All I remember is that Felicia was here for some reason. Even after I threw all of her stuff out.

MELISSA: I have to get to the office. Perhaps I'll see you there later.

Melissa stands, leaving her plate to be cleared from the table. As she exits, she turns back to Robert one last time.

MELISSA: By the way, our wedding date has been moved forward to December.

ROBERT: Melissa -

MELISSA: Just before Christmas. On my birthday. [Beat] That's all.

Melissa exits.

ROBERT: [Sighing] I never should have let her see that damn movie.
