Simon Price's Apartment
Fordham, IL

Living Room. Simon Price opens the door to find William Connor standing in his doorway.

SIMON: William, come on in.

WILLIAM: I came as soon as I heard the news.

SIMON: News? What kind of news?

WILLIAM: I got a call from headquarters about your relocation.

SIMON: To Paris.

WILLIAM: Your plans have been changed.

SIMON: They...they what? But Mr. Eastcott informed me that -

WILLIAM: I'm aware. But I spoke with him, and we came to an agreement. We're going to put a closer watch on the people who might have been tracking you. And so -

SIMON: I won't have to move?

WILLIAM: No.

SIMON: God, that's amazing.

WILLIAM: I'm glad you think so.

SIMON: I've been getting closer to Denise, actually. I'd have hated to leave when things were going so well.

WILLIAM: That's good to hear, Simon. I'm glad that your life here is going well. Very glad.

SIMON: What about the ticket?

WILLIAM: I'll take the ticket and I'll handle it.

Blood Home

Living Room. Quentin Blood enters, where Chris Server is sitting on the edge of the couch.

QUENTIN: I was surprised when you requested a meeting with me, Chris.

CHRIS: Well, I had a favor to ask. And I wanted to do it in person.

QUENTIN: This isn't another one of those Òhelp me get the person I'm in love withÓ favors, is it? Because people keep asking me those inane favors.

CHRIS: Actually, just the opposite.

QUENTIN: Oh? I'm sorry?

CHRIS: I've been thinking about Blake Thomas too damn long, that's what's up. And after everything I did to try and save him from going to jail, he hasn't even cared. So I'm done.

QUENTIN: Honestly?

CHRIS: Yeah. I'm done. I want more work to do. To take my mind off Blake, if you don't mind.

QUENTIN: No. No, I don't mind at all.

CHRIS: Thanks. I think I'm finally read to move on. [Beat] It'll be good for me, I think. [Beat] I hope.

Bale Home

Living Room. Alec Bale enters, finding the living room empty.

ALEC: Dad! What the hell is going on outside?

Robert Bale enters from the kitchen, carrying a bottle of champagne.

ROBERT: Alec, what are you doing here?

ALEC: I live here.

ROBERT: Ah. Yes. Well, now we both do.

ALEC: I'm aware. I was at the circus you deigned to call a divorce hearing.

ROBERT: At any rate, Alec, those are your mother's things outside. She...caused a scene and threw her things outside.

ALEC: Dad, I didn't fall out of a banana tree this morning.

ROBERT: What?

ALEC: I know that Mom didn't do that. And I'm assuming that you did.

ROBERT: Alec. Are you calling me a liar?

ALEC: Yes! And there are a ton of other things I'd love to call you, but right now I'm too pissed off to do much of anything. I'm out of here.

ROBERT: Alec!

ALEC: Wherever the hell Mom ends up after this? I'm moving in with her. [Beat] Actually...you know what? Forget it. I'm not living with either of you. You can both go to hell for all I care.

Alec exits.

Sacred Heart Mental Health Facility

Hallway. Valerie Hanley-Holden walks with a Nurse, approaching a room at the end of the hallway.

VALERIE: Thank you so much, Erica.

NURSE: I could get fired for this, you know.

VALERIE: Then don't let anyone find out. And you get to keep the money that I gave you.

They stop at the door.

NURSE: Here we are.

VALERIE: Thank you.

The Nurse opens the door, allowing Valerie to step inside. As she does, she finds a dark-haired girl sitting on a bed in the corner, wearing a straight jacket.

VALERIE: Alexis. Hello.

Alexis Lopez turns around, staring blankly at Valerie. The Nurse closes the door, startling Valerie.

ALEXIS: Who are you?

VALERIE: I'm a friend, Alexis. I came to ask you a couple of questions.

ALEXIS: I don't feel like answering any questions.

VALERIE: I'd really appreciate it if you did.

Alexis gazes intently at Valerie's wrist.

ALEXIS: Let me have your bracelet.

VALERIE: Excuse me?

ALEXIS: I'll answer your goddamn questions, just give me that bracelet you're wearing.

VALERIE: Oh...well, um...okay?

Valerie removes the bracelet on her left wrist and walks it over to Alexis. She sets it down on the bed.

VALERIE: I don't really know where you're going to wear it, but...

ALEXIS: Did Ryan send you?

VALERIE: Ryan Phillips? No, he didn't send me.

ALEXIS: Of course he did. You don't have to lie to me. [Beat] He's still upset with me, for losing our baby.

VALERIE: He is?

ALEXIS: But you see, I didn't lose the baby. It was taken away from me, by that bitch Vanessa. She took my baby away from me, and I'm going to get it back.

VALERIE: That's...that's very nice. [Beat] Listen, I wanted to ask you a couple of questions. About your father.

ALEXIS: My...my father?

VALERIE: [Smiling] Yes. Your father.

ALEXIS: My Dad is dead. Why are you asking me about him?

VALERIE: I just wanted to -

ALEXIS: My father used to beat me. And he used to rape me. And finally, when he tried to take my baby away from me too, I killed him. And I'd suggest that you stop asking me all of these damn questions about him, because if you do, then I might have to kill you myself!

VALERIE: I'm sorry! I'm sorry, Alexis. I didn't mean to upset you.

ALEXIS: You don't want to upset me? Tell me where Ryan is, so I can tell him the truth about what happened! I need to tell him the truth!

VALERIE: [Softly] I'm sorry...
