"You Really Got a Hold On Me"
season four, episode twenty four
May 11, 2005

Previously...

Vince, Kelli, Melissa, Joel, Duncan, and Lori died in Marquette Cove within a span of days. Once everyone was laid to rest in their coffins, they awoke to discover they weren't really dead. As they screamed from their graves, unable to escape, all six victims blacked out and awoke in limousines transporting them to the Highwind Resort, where their host Rory Kahn informed them that their loved ones think they're dead, and they are now being held as prisoners.

Tom King revealed that he kidnapped the souls of seven victims and placed them in the fictional world of St. Laurent, while their bodies continued to exist in Marquette Cove. He is unaware of any side-effects that may occur from the victims exisiting without their souls in Marquette Cove, and souls without their bodies in St. Laurent.

The seventh guest at the Highwind Resort was revealed to be Michael Thomas, who told his ex-girlfriend Kelli that he was really his twin brother, Blake Thomas. It was a lie.

Some other stuff happened in St. Laurent.

...Oh, fine. Apparently, some other people are in St. Laurent as well. Sean Moore (Vince's father), Kelly Crane (Duncan's girlfriend and Joel's ex-wife), Tyler Maddock (Melissa's still-born son, who's somehow in his twenties now), Samantha Clark (Ryan Phillips' — remember him? — no-longer-comatose girlfriend), Erin Maddock (Melissa's daughter), and Derek Moore (Vince's uncle).

Melissa Maddock entered the Highwind Resort's lobby, attempting to calm herself down after the news she had just received upstairs. Not only had her daughter been found alive after being presumed dead for months, but now she was finding out that the son she miscarried before arriving on the island was actually alive. Of course, she was now also dealing with the fact that Vince, Joel, and Kelli were all dead.

Duncan was interrupted as the door flew open and Thomas staggered into the hotel room, gasping for air.

"Oh my God," Thomas gasped.

"What did you do to my daughter?" Melissa demanded, advancing toward Thomas.

"Your daughter? I don't…what's happening," Thomas said.

"Blake, what's wrong with you?" Duncan demanded.

"I was outside with Vince…and Kelli…and your brother," Thomas said, clutching his chest. "And they're…I think they're all dead!"

"Can you believe it?"

Melissa spun around to find Michael Thomas approaching her from the stairs. She took a step back from him.

"You're responsible for this," Melissa insisted.

"No, I'm not," Thomas replied. "I swear, I have no idea how your daughter ended up in my room. All I know is that I was gone, and I saw the others disappearing through the forcefield…I tried following them."

"Where's Duncan?" Melissa demanded.

"He's upstairs still with Lori, they're watching over Erin," Thomas said. "When she came in, I slipped out so they wouldn't know I was gone."

"I'll tell them, then," Melissa said. "You're not going to get away with this."

Thomas remained silent for a moment. "I know where your son is."

Melissa's face fell.

"When I followed them, I saw someone I didn't recognize being held captive at another compound," Thomas continued. "Your son."

"My…my son?"

"Tyler Maddock," Thomas said. "He's there…waiting for you."

"My son," Melissa repeated, finding that tears were now forming in her eyes. "Do you really mean it?"

Thomas nodded. "Yes. Let me show you where he is."

He held out his hand for Melissa to take it.

"Trust me."

"Where are you taking me?" Kelly Crane demanded, as she was dragged through a hallway by an as usual, shirtless, Beau Ormand. "Let me go!"

"Shut up, you stupid bitch," Beau said. "You're taking a little trip with the rest of the cattle from Marquette Cove."

"Leave her alone!"

Beau turned to find Sean Moore standing nearby, being pushed through the hallway by Beau's brother, Remy. Beau rolled his eyes and kept dragging Kelly until they reached a storage room, where he tossed her onto the ground.

He stepped inside, while Sean followed with Remy. As Remy stood next to his brother, he noticed someone else lying on the floor in the room — Tyler Maddock.

"It's Melissa's son," Remy said. "What's he doing here?"

"We have to move everyone before Giselle gets wind of what's been going on here," Beau insisted. "She can't see us as screw-ups."

"But you are," Kelly insisted. "Michael Thomas already escaped, and who's to say someone else won't be able to? You're both sorry excuses for men."

"What did you say?" Beau demanded.

"And your pecs look like breasts," Kelly snapped. "A trip to the gym wouldn't kill you."

"You bitch!" Beau advanced on Kelly, and once he was close enough, she kicked him in the groin.

Beau cried out in pain and sank to his knees, as Kelly climbed to her own and punched Beau in the face, knocking him unconscious. Remy gasped and raced out of the storage room, closing the door as he escaped.

"Punk," Kelly muttered, climbing to her feet. "We need to get out of here before anyone else comes."

"Then let's move," Tyler said, standing as well.

He outstretched a hand to Sean and helped him stand. The three embraced one another and then glanced around the room for a way to escape.

"Let's get out of here," Sean said.

Melissa Maddock's Room

"I can't believe my brother is really gone," Duncan Kincaid said softly, staring out the window. "This can't be happening. What kind of person could torture us like this? Bring us here…only to kill us off?"

"I don't know if we can even trust Blake," Lori Racine insisted, from where she was seated on the bed, stroking Erin Maddock's hair. "He had Erin in his room. He's obviously been lying to us since we met him.

"What are you saying?"

"Your brother might not be dead," Lori said. "And neither are Kelli or Vince. I think Blake did something to them. He seems squirrelly enough."

"So maybe he found Erin, and then what?" Duncan demanded. "I mean, what would he have done to her?"

"Maybe he was holding her captive because she knows something about him," Lori insisted. "Maybe he really does know what's going on here in St. Laurent."

"Then we need to find him," Duncan said. "Where'd he go?"

Lori glanced around the room. "He was here a few minutes ago…is he outside?"

Duncan walked over to the door and peered outside. Blake was nowhere in sight, and neither was Melissa.

"Shit," Duncan grumbled. "We've got to find them."

Outskirts of St. Laurent

Joel Kincaid hugged his body tightly, attempting to walk through the blizzard currently raging outside the forcefield. He zipped his jacket and tried keeping an eye out for Kelli Anderson, since they had become separated once Blake sealed them outside the forcefield.

"This is getting me nowhere," Joel said, his teeth chattering. "How the hell am I supposed to find Kelli?"

As Joel walked, he slid on a pool of ice and fell onto his back. Joel cried out as he felt a sharp pain in his side. He reached out to try and lift himself from the ground, but his hands were nearly frozen and unable to give him enough leverage to climb to his feet.

"Damn you Blake," Joel groaned. "You're going to get away with all of this…with everything you've done to all of us."

"I think we're lost," Tyler said, rubbing his hands together in an effort to stay warm. "I have no idea where we are."

"None of us do, we've been held captive in that place for months," Kelly said. "None of us besides Thomas have even been outside."

"We just need to find some place safe to regroup," Sean said. "What about this Highwind Resort everyone keeps mentioning? We have to find that place, and maybe we can get home. Back to the people who love us…ever since that car explosion, I've been praying for this."

As they were talking, the three were suddenly hit by a strong gust of wind. Kelly cried out as she was whipped into the air and sent flying away from Tyler and Sean. They screamed at Kelly and tried reaching out for her, but before they could, Sean slid back and slide down an incline.

As he rolled away from Tyler, Sean found himself sliding through mound of snow after mound of snow, each one colder than the next.

Tyler wiped the snow from his face and tried looking around for the others, but the tears coming from his eyes were now freezing on his face. Tyler coughed heavily and grabbed at his chest, while he felt the blood quickly rushing from his body.

"I have to make it. I have to find my mother," Tyler gasped, before collapsing onto the ground.

"Where are we?" Melissa asked, walking through the snow and keeping close to Thomas. "I didn't know there was anything outside that forcefield…but here we are."

"Don't worry, we're getting closer to your son," Thomas said.

"Thank you so much, Blake, for doing this," Melissa said. "I thought that you were behind what had happened to us, and to my daughter, but now I see that you were only here to help us. You're the reason that I'm —"

Growing tired of hearing Melissa speak, Thomas punched her in the face, knocking her unconscious. He rubbed his hand and stared down at her in disgust.

"God, shut up already," Thomas muttered.

Joel opened his eyes and looked up, wondering where he was. He was still lying outside in the snow, but now he could see a building in the distance. As Joel struggled to climb to his feet, he saw an unconscious woman lying nearby him.

"Oh my God," Joel gasped.

At first he thought it might be Kelli, but then he realized that the woman was Caucasian, and much older than Kelli was. Still feeling as if he knew her, Joel crawled toward the woman and tried to get a closer view of her face.

"Oh God," Joel cried. "Kelly…Oh my God, it can't be you!"

Joel managed to climb to his feet and lift Kelly from the ground, cradling her in his arms. He kissed her on the forehead, still in disbelief that it was really her. Before he had a moment to think about it, however, he began carrying her toward the nearby building.

"Don't worry, honey," Joel said. "I'm going to get you inside. Then I'll find out what's happened to you."

Outskirts of St. Laurent

Tyler staggered through the snow, now attempting to find Sean and Kelly. But he was very near close to freezing to death, and he could barely think straight as it was. He had no idea how he was supposed to find any of them.

"How am I supposed to…Kelly!"

Tyler cried out when he saw Kelly lying in the snow, and rushed toward her. Apparently, the wind hadn't taken her as far away as he'd thought.

"Oh my God, Kelly," Tyler cried, rushing to her aid. "I had no idea that…wait a minute, this isn't Kelly."

Tyler stared at the woman lying unconscious in the snow, wondering who she was.

"Where the hell am I?" Vincent Moore wondered aloud, as he stumbled through the snow. "I need to find Thomas so I can kill that bastard for locking me out here. I need to find him before he does anything to Kelli or the others."

While Vince walked, he tripped over something and fell onto his chest. Groaning, Vince rolled over onto his back and sat up. He dusted a pile of snow off whatever it was he tripped over and tried identifying it. As he did, he realized that he recognized the person lying in the snow.

"Dad?" Vince spoke, tears swelling in his eyes. "Oh my God, dad!"

"Huh?" Sean blinked and opened his eyes, reaching out to touch Vince. "Vince…is that really…is that you?"

"Yes, dad, it's really me!" Vince cried, leaning forward to hug his father. "I can't believe you're alive!"

Kelli Anderson tried wrapping her scarf around her face to keep the wind from hitting her, while also leaving enough room to see where she was going. She had become separated from Joel, so now she was attempting to find Vince on her own. She had no idea why Blake had done what he'd just done, but she was beginning to have serious doubts about him.

"There has to be a reason why Blake did this," Kelli said. "Something must be controlling him, making him do this. He wouldn't try to kill us!"

"You're right, Blake wouldn't."

Kelli spun around and found Michael Thomas standing in front of her.

"Blake!" Kelli cried, stepping forward. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

Kelli slapped Thomas across the face.

"Kelli, I can explain," Thomas insisted. "You see…I'm…I'm not who you think I am."

"What?"

"I'm not Blake," Thomas said. "I'm Thomas. Michael Thomas."

Kelli's face fell. "Oh God…Thomas? It's you! The message you sent me was real!"

Kelli stepped forward to hug Thomas, but he grabbed her arm and took a small step back while glaring at her.

"You're confused, Kelli," Thomas said. "You see, that message was a fake. I was never trapped anywhere."

"What are you talking about?" Kelli demanded.

"Blake isn't here. He never was," Thomas explained. "It's been me all along. Your boyfriend."

"No…this is crazy," Kelli said. "Why are you telling me this?"

"Because I've been watching you lust after Vince for months now, and forget all about me!" Thomas cried, pushing Kelli onto the ground. "But don't worry, because once I'm done with you, you won't even remember Vince's name."

"Thomas! What are you doing?" Kelli cried, sliding back in the snow.

"I'm your boyfriend," Thomas said. "Remember? And as your boyfriend, I'm going to get what's rightfully mine from you…whether you like it or not."

Bel Ami Club

Joel kicked open the first door he saw as he approached the building with Kelly in his arms. Stepping inside, Joel was first hit with the warmth coming from the building. He laid Kelly down on the floor and quickly closed the door to keep the cold wind out.

"You're freezing, Kelly," Joel said, glancing around for something he could wrap Kelly in.

He noticed a pile of tablecloths lying on the far side of the wall and hurried over to them. Joel picked up as many as he could and staggered back toward Kelly, where he began to wrap her and himself in the tablecloths.

"Joel?" Kelly spoke, slowly opening her eyes.

"Kelly, it's me," Joel whispered. "I'm here with you."

"Joel…how did you get here?" Kelly gasped.

Joel kissed her on the lips. "Don't worry about that right now. The only thing that matters is we're here together now."

Kelly returned Joel's kiss and ran her fingers through his hair. She moaned as Joel moved from her lips and began kissing her neck.

"I love you," Joel whispered.

"I love you too," Kelly echoed.
