Alec Bale entered the living room of his home, after finally leaving the hospital following Vincent Moore's prayer vigil. He had no idea where his mother was, but he was dressed and ready for Melissa Maddock's funeral. Besides, Alec was doubtful that his mother had any interest in mourning the woman responsible for breaking up their family.
Alec didn't even want to go, but he wanted to be there to support his father. Sighing, Alec took a look at himself in the mirror and made sure his tie was straight. When the doorbell rang, Alec ran his fingers through his hair and approached the front door.
At the door was Alec's cousin, Sara Reynolds. She forced a smile and gave him a hug before stepping into the foyer. "Hello, Alec."
"Thanks for coming, Sara," Alec said. "It will mean a lot to my dad."
"I don't care much for Melissa, not after what she did," Sara said. "But she was Erin's mother. Erin would want me to be here."
"This is horrible," Alec said. "Melissa and Sara are gone. Vince is in a coma he might never wake up from, and Kelli Anderson died earlier tonight."
"This is turning out to be the worst night in Marquette Cove, I know," Sara said. "And now a funeral? Is…is your mother coming?"'
"I have no idea where my mom is," Alec said. "Or my dad, for that matter."
"Hmm," Sara said, turning away from Alec and gazing out the door. "I wonder where they could be…"
MARQUETTE COVE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Felicia Bale awoke on a cot in her jail cell, with a massive headache. She tried remembering where she was, but the only thing that came to mind was finding Melissa Maddock's dead body lying on the floor in Melissa's own mansion, dripping in blood. Felicia sat up to find someone staring at her from inside her cell.
"Robert…" Felicia spoke, seeing her husband standing before her. "How did I get here?"
"Wow, I guess you really were drunk during your bail hearing," Robert said. "Tell me, how's that hangover working for you?"
"This isn't funny, Robert," Felicia said, sitting up. "I can barely move…I need my pain medication."
"The last thing you need is something else to get you high or intoxicated," Robert said. "You might go ahead and kill someone else."
"Kill?"
"Melissa and my child, Felicia," Robert snapped. "You killed them, and now you're behind bars where you belong."
"Robert, you don't —"
"You're behind bars, just like the murdering bitch you are," Robert said. "I can't believe I ever married you."
MARQUETTE COVE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
Simon Holden stepped into the hospital chapel with Leslie Moore following him, where he found students from Marquette Cove Memorial Hospital sitting in pews praying for Vince. At the head of the chapel was a large photograph of Vince, which was surrounded by candles, flowers, and wreaths.
"This is amazing," Simon said.
"Thank you, Dr. Holden," Julia Mitchell said, approaching Simon and Leslie. "I did the best I could. Alec and Blake helped, obviously."
Leslie smiled as she saw Blake Thomas standing near the front of the chapel, next to Michael Hanley, of all people. She hadn't known that Michael truly cared about Vince, but she was willing to accept that he at least didn't want Vince to die. Leslie assumed that Alec had left the church to be with his father at Melissa Maddock's funeral.
"Thank you," Leslie said. "I'm so glad all of our prayers are with Vincent right now. And even Kelli…God, I heard about her as well. There's so much pain in Marquette Cove tonight."
"Simon, do you have news?" Michael called out to his brother-in-law.
Everyone in the chapel turned to look at Simon, awaiting news on Vince.
"Yes, I do," Simon said. "Unfortunately, it isn't good…I'm afraid that Vincent may never awake from his coma."
"Oh my God," Leslie gasped, collapsing onto the floor of the chapel.
"Mom!" Akilah Moore cried, hurrying to her mother's side. "Mr. Holden, do something!"
Simon dropped his clipboard and tried to discern what was wrong with Leslie, as everyone in the chapel became worried for her condition. He checked her pulse to make sure that she was still breathing, and found that she was.
"Give me some room," Simon said, attempting to wake Leslie up.
As he did, a nurse entered the chapel and tapped Simon on his shoulder.
"What's going on?" Simon demanded.
"It's Vincent Moore, sir," the nurse responded. "He just flatlined."
"Oh my God," Julia gasped. "Vince is dead?"
"Not if I can help it," Simon said, rising to his feet. "Nurse, help Vince's mother as best you can. I have a life to save."
SERVER HOME
Blake Thomas knocked on the door to Chris Server's room, and waited for someone to answer. He had just left the hospital, where Simon Holden was attending to Vince and trying to save his life. He couldn't stay, however, he had to find Chris and find out everything that had happened during Kelli's death.
Blake was still debating whether or not he would be turning Chris over to the police for Kelli's death. He loved Chris, but if he was responsible for killing Kelli…Blake had no other choice. He owed it to his brother, Michael Thomas, who had loved Kelli with all his life while he was alive.
After Blake had been standing at the door for a few moments, Chris opened the door looking haggard. Blake figured Chris was tired, but for all he knew, he could have been drunk or high. He realized that he didn't really know as much about his boyfriend as he had thought.
"If Kelli dies, I'll kill you," Blake said.
"I wouldn't blame you," Chris replied, talking candidly to Blake now that they were alone once again in the hallway. "I still love you, Blake."
"Shut up, Chris," Blake snapped. "It's not going to work. You lied to us for over a year, and now your lies have ended with Kelli getting hurt."
"Blake, I just —"
"You almost killed her!" Blake cried. "I have lost enough people for one lifetime, Chris! And you went and fucking did this to me again?"
"I'm sorry," Chris said. "That's all I can say."
Blake slapped Chris across the face, just as Cyrus exited the emergency room with Dr. Victor Collins behind him. Victor began to speak, but Cyrus rested his hand on Victor's shoulder and told him he could say it himself.
"Dr. Anderson, what's wrong?" Blake demanded.
"I'm afraid I have some bad news," Cyrus spoke solemnly. "Kelli is…my little girl…she's dead, Blake. We couldn't save her."
"Oh God," Blake gasped, holding his hand close to his mouth as if he were about to vomit. He could even feel it in his stomach, since the very thought of Kelli's death made him sick to his stomach. Especially knowing the circumstances surrounding her death. "This is all…this is all your fault."
"Blake, I tried everything I could to save her," Cyrus insisted.
"Not you," Blake said, turning to face Chris. "I meant him. He's the one who killed your daughter, Dr. Anderson. He murdered her."
"What do you want?" Chris demanded.
"I want to know what happened!" Blake cried. "Did you kill Kelli?"
"I didn't kill Kelli," Chris said. "I love you, I wouldn't lie to you."
"But did you kill her?" Blake demanded.
"I didn't shoot Kelli!" Chris cried.

"You married me because you love me," Felicia insisted, pushing back strands of blonde hair covering her face. "Robert, please try to remember how much I loved you."
"How could I have ever loved you? You're a murdering slut," Robert said.
"Robert, you don't mean that!" Felicia cried. "Don't you understand how much I love you? I've tried to show you that!"
"How, by sleeping with Michael?" Robert demanded.
"I never slept with him! He's my brother!" Felicia snapped.
"You went and murdered Melissa, how do I know you didn't want a little incest on the side?" Robert asked, edging close to her.
"I'm so sorry," Felicia said. "I never meant to hurt Melissa! I don't even know how it happened, Robert! I was drinking, I don't even remember —"
Robert shut Felicia up by slapping her. Felicia head snapped back from the force of the blow, and she covered her face to ease the pain. Robert remained where he was standing and breathed heavily, almost wanting to hit Felicia again.
"Shut up, you murdering whore," Robert snarled. "You are nothing but a lying, whoring, slut, Felicia! I hope they throw the goddamn book at you."
"Oh Robert, you don't mean that!" Felicia cried.
"You're a slut, Felicia!" Robert cried. "Of course I mean it!"
Felicia reached out to touch Robert, but he slapped her across the face once more. He paused to stare at her, and then he turned around and called for the guard to get him out of the jail cell.
"I have a funeral to get to," Robert said. "I only wish it were yours I was attending."

"Shut up, Chris," Blake snapped. "It's not going to work. You lied to us for over a year, and now your lies have ended with Kelli dying!"
"Blake, I just —"
"You killed her!" Blake cried. "I have lost enough people for one lifetime, Chris! And you went and fucking did this to me again?"
"I'm sorry," Chris said. "That's all I can say. And besides, I wasn't the only person there."
"What the hell are you talking about?" Blake demanded.
"Chris," Kelli gasped, before collapsing onto the ground.
"Kelli!" Chris cried, dropping to his knees to help Kelli. "God, Kelli! Why did you have to make this happen?!"
He looked up at Ric, who was trembling as he held his own gun in his hands. Ric looked down at the bleeding Kelli in fear, and suddenly be flashed back to discovering Erin Maddock's dead body in one of the bathrooms at the Hanley mansion.
"Ric, help me out here," Chris said. "I need you to call for an ambulance."
"She's…she's dead," Ric said.
"She's not dead!" Chris cried. "Here, just take my gun and call the ambulance!"
Chris grabbed his own gun and handed it to Ric. Ric took the gun, and then backed away from him. He reached for his cell phone, but ended up dropping Chris's gun. Ric reached for his cell phone from his pocket, but it also slipped and fell.
"Shit!" Ric cried, bending over to pick up the gun instead. He stared at the phone for a moment as it began to ring. It was Quentin Blood calling them. "No…not him."
"Ric, don't freak out," Chris said. "Just call an ambulance!"
"I can't!" Ric cried, running away from Chris and Kelli while carrying both his and Chris's gun. As he ran, Chris called out after him to stop, but Ric didn't. Chris swore under his breath and tore off his sweater to try and stop the flow of blood coming from Kelli's body.
He then reached for Ric's cell phone to call for an ambulance himself.
"Nothing," Chris said quickly. "You know, I did this for you anyway."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I only returned to working for Quentin because you were in jail!" Chris cried. "I did that to get you out of jail!"
"You…you what?" Blake demanded.
"I did this to save you," Chris snapped. "So if anyone killed Kelli, it's you."
"You're lying," Blake said.
"No, I'm not," Chris insisted.
"You're lying to me!" Blake cried. "Stop lying to me!"
Blake slapped Chris across the face and glared at him before turning away and running from the house as fast as he could. Chris sadly watched as his boyfriend left, wondering how they were ever going to be able to deal with this.
MARQUETTE COVE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
Akilah sat outside her brother's hospital room, tending to her mother, as they waited for Simon to return with news that he had been able to save Vince. Standing next to Akilah were Michael and Julia, both nervously awaiting news as well.
Julia tugged the fur coat she was wearing closer to her body and turned away from everyone else. She had a strange feeling in the pit of her stomach, one she had felt since she first the abandoned church where she and Vince had nearly died.
As she dwelled on the feeling she was having, Julia suddenly felt a wave of pain rushing to her head. She cried out and nearly fell to the floor, but Michael rushed to her side to help her.
"Are you okay?" Michael asked.
"Death," Julia gasped.
"What's that?" Akilah demanded, raising her head.
"Death…destruction," Julia said. "I can see it…I can see murder."
"Julia, stop it," Akilah said. "You're upsetting my mother."
"I'm fine," Leslie insisted. "Julia, what do you see?"
"I see a tree falling," Julia replied, attempting to regain her composure. "I see a tree falling…but yet there is no storm, Leslie."
"What the hell does that even mean?" Akilah asked, rising to her feet.
"This isn't over," Julia said. "There's going to be another death…someone's going to die, I'm sure of it! But I don't see any coffins at their funerals."
"That's enough," Akilah snapped.
She was about to say something else, when Simon opened the door to Vince's room. Leslie stood up and gazed into the door, where she could see Vince resting in his hospital bed. She stepped forward to enter the room, but Simon put out his hand to stop her.
"I'm sorry," Simon said, as a nurse pulled Vince's white sheet over his face. "I did all I could…but I wasn't able to save him."
"No!" Leslie cried. "No! Not my son, Simon! Not my son!"
Leslie nearly collapsed again, but Simon held her balance and Michael reached out to help her. Akilah stepped in to push Michael away from her mother.
"Stay away from her," Akilah said. "You've hurt our family enough."
"Akilah, stop," Leslie said. "Michael was only trying to help…like he did with Vince. I can't believe he's…no, I can't believe he's gone!"
Akilah walked her mother into the room to say goodbye to Vince. Michael remained in the doorway and grimaced at Simon.
"They're going to be okay," Michael said softly. "I'll see to it."
