Nightmares of what Aaron Maddock did to him. The same thing he did to his cousin Kyle, and his nephew Alec Bale. Molested them. Took advantage of them when they were children, then forced them to forget. But Tyler plans to stop Aaron before he can hurt anyone else again... someone like Melissa's child, Hunter. An innocent child.
Once there are enough guests, before the ceremony starts, Tyler will interrupt the proceedings and tell the entire town what Aaron did to him when he was younger.
He unlocks his car door and climbs out, stuffing his keys into his pocket. As he walks toward the front of the church, he can feel as if a huge weight is being lifted from his shoulders.
Tyler will go inside, he'll make his announcement, and he'll right all of Aaron's wrongs. He'll make Melissa proud of the son he will never be able to have. As he reaches the doors to the church, he pushes them open and steps into the vestibule, the area he'd been waiting in earlier that morning before any guests arrived.
People are already seated in the pews, waiting for the ceremony to begin. Now is his time. Everything needs to go down now, and not a tad bit later.
"Okay Aaron, your reign of terror stops "
Before Tyler can finish speaking aloud, a blunt, heavy object comes crashing down on his head. His eyes roll back in his head as he stumbles to the floor. His attacker bends over, checking to make sure the coast is clear before he drags an unconscious Tyler back out the church doors. "Sorry Tyler," Kyle Maddock whispers. "But I'm not about to let you ruin my
plans."
Yolanda Holland shouldn't have just been at his hotel suite door, she should be bound and gagged, held hostage by the man Herald hired to kidnap her. But seeing as how he just slammed the door in her face, she is very much not the person that Herald's henchman Depeche kidnapped.
"Shit."
Herald dials Depeche's number on his cell phone, nearly combusting in anticipation. Finally he hears Depeche's voice on the other end. "Depeche! You goddamn idiot!"
"What's wrong, sir?"
"You got the wrong woman! Again!" Herald doesn't even bother to lower his voice as he shouts into his phone. "You were supposed to kidnap Yolanda! Not whoever the hell you..."
Herald pauses for a moment, suddenly remembering his daughter's upheaval over the fact that Sean apparently skipped town with his first wife, Leslie. Leslie, who happens to be pregnant with Michael Hanley's child. Depeche voiced a concern over drugging and keeping a pregnant woman hostage... which has now led Herald to the realization of exactly who he has in Depeche's grip.
"Leslie," Herald says. "You kidnapped the wrong woman. You kidnapped Leslie Moore."
"I didn't... I didn't mean to boss!"
"Just shut the hell up," Herald snaps. "I need to meet my daughter at this wedding. Keep your phone on until I can contact you."
He hangs up the phone and takes a deep breath before sliding it back into his breast pocket. Herald goes to the door and opens it, expecting to be able to slip out and head toward the wedding. But he is surprised to find Yolanda Holland still outside his door... as if she's heard everything he just said.
"Yolanda... what are you still doing here?"
"About to call the goddam police is what I'm going to do," Yolanda insists, staring at Herald in horror.
THOMAS HOME
Chris Server watches as Blake Thomas meticulously dons the only suit he has, dressing for Aaron Maddock's wedding. Since he's begun to feed on Blake for sustenance, he has been wary of using his powers of suggestion on him. But it is something he used last year on Vincent Moore in order to feel what it was like to sleep with Blake again.
This was back when Chris was more or less, evil.
Now he has no idea what he is. He has cravings for blood, that is sure. He feels darker thoughts than most, has a deeper connection to nature. But before, he was under Quentin Blood's influence. Now, he acts of his own volition. In tandem with the darkness... the disease he has been affected with.
It keeps him in the dark. Prevents him from going outside. Prevents him from leading the normal life that he once had. Part of Chris wants to end it all. Just kill himself.
But he knows that he could never leave Blake behind.
Even this... this situation they have now, it's better than nothing at all. And though he hates controlling Blake like this, he knows that he must. Blake has never been dark enough to stand up for himself.
He's never been able to kill.
Not like Chris has.
And so, it is with reluctance that Chris uses his powers to drive Blake to kill Aaron Maddock. But it's also something that is very necessary.
