POLOKWANE, SOUTH AFRICA
STERKFONTEIN CAVES

Kelli Anderson is barely able to stand as she glances up into the darkness, squinting to see the person standing above her. She is weak from her body being used as a constant source for blood...the people who captured her, they've been drinking from her.

She feels as if she's been locked up for months, years even. Any concept of time is completely lost on Kelli. This cavern is dark and cold. There's no sunlight. No earthly way of knowing whether it is day or night.

And sometimes she doesn't sleep. It's too frightening.

"Kelli," a voice whispers in the dark. "You have to escape. They're here to save you."

"Save me?" Kelli croaks, barely able to speak, her throat is completely dry.

"Find the compound. Get help."

Before Kelli can react, the stranger grabs her chains and unlocks them. Kelli lies frozen, unable to move.

"Go. Go now."

With all the strength she can muster, Kelli climbs to her feet and staggers off into the night. As she goes, Julia Mitchell watches with a sad coldness.

"Go, Kelli..."

She hopes that the girl will be able to find Vince and Alec, but she is doubtful. Somehow, whatever they've gotten into in Polokwane...they're all in over their heads.

Before Julia can react, she feels a hand clamp down on her shoulder. She knows who it is immediately. She recognizes the smell, the sensation she felt when this man killed Morris Anderson and Julia stumbled across the site.

Quentin Blood leans in to Julia's ear and whispers, "And why...pray tell, did you just do that, my love?"

Love is eternal. Life is forever.
Yet things shall always remain...
Guasti Cose.

HUMAN RESCUERS COMPOUND

Chris Server enters the late Sara Reynold's room, still wiping the dust from his clothing. He finds Akilah Moore lying on the bed, eyes wide open and staring at the whirring ceiling fan.

"Julia?" Chris calls out.

There is no response.

"I knew that bitch was lying," Chris says, approaching AKilah. "But where the hell did he go?"

He sits next to Akilah, silently stroking her hair. Chris himself is not attracted to her. He's still only attracted to men. But the demon inside of him...it feels a connection to Akilah. Longs for her.

Maybe that's the solution for homophobic parents across the globe. Kill your gay kids and let them be possessed by a demon. That ought to solve everything. And if it doesn't, a little church prayin' will clear that demon right up.

Chris is taken aback when Akilah sits up, takes him forcefully and kisses him. Shoving her tongue down his throat, Akilah is intense and determined. When the kiss finally end, Chris finds himself panting for air.

"It's time," Akilah says. "He's here."

OUTSIDE THE STERKFONTEIN CAVES

"Where the hell is Sara?" Vince demands, staring up at Alec. He hits his flashlight, turning it back on, but realizing that the batteries will soon be dead.

"I don't know," Alec says, lowering his own flashlight. "But it sure is taking her a while."

"This place is creeping me the fuck out," Vince snaps.

"Yeah, well you —" Alec stops speaking. "Oh God!"

"What?"

"There's something running at me!" Alec cries.

"One of the cannibals?"

"No, it's..."

Alec is abruptly cut off as he collides with the figure hurtling toward him. They both sail into the large hole that Vince is currently trapped in, landing with a heavy thump.

"What the hell! Alec, you can't help me if you're down here!"

"Who...who pushed me..." Alec groans.

"It's...oh my god," Vince says, gasping at the sight of the person lying atop Alec. "It's Kelli!"

STERKFONTEIN CAVES

"I was...sending her off to get the others, so she could bring them back here," Julia says quickly. "That's all, Quentin."

Quentin smiles, raising an eyebrow. But Julia is unaware as to whether or not he believes her. He claps his hands, illuminating several candles lining the walls of the cavern.

Julia marvels at the sight, feeling like she's in a scene in an old horror movie. But that marvel quickly vanishes when the fear returns to her body.

"You had better pray that's the truth," Quentin says. "Otherwise, you will become to sacrifice."

"The...the sacrifice?"

"In the ceremony. Akilah and Christopher are on their way."

"What ceremony?" Julia demands.

"The wedding," Quentin answers. "At the next twilight...Akilah and Christopher are to be wed."
