"Are we?" Robert scoffs. "I still say we march out of this mansion and have you arrested and thrown in jail."
"That's repetitive. You could have simply said you were going to have me thrown in jail," Michael says.
"Michael, stop it," Felicia says, rising from the couch. "We wouldn't need to go to the police if you would just tell us that you didn't kill Sean."
"I didn't," Michael snaps. "And what is in my basement is none of your business."
"It is when we've been locked in it for days!" Robert cries.
"Having sex in it, I might add," Michael says, reminding them that he knows about their sexual encounter that occurred while trapped in Michael's secret laboratory. "Perhaps we should call your wife and see how she reacts to that news?"
"The very fact that you're trying to blackmail us makes me suspicious," Robert says, smiling. "You're full of shit."
"You'd do well to watch how you speak to me in my own home," Michael snaps. "Especially withLeslie upstairs resting."
"Maybe I should run upstairs and tell your wife all about you playing Operation with her husband," Robert offers.
Felicia remains silent. She remembers the last conversation she had with Leslie, where she accused Leslie of marrying Michael for ill intentions. Felicia had been so indignant that Michael was behind no wrong doing, and now...Felicia isn't quite so sure.
"In fact, why don't we corral the kids too?" Robert asks.
"They're at the hospital," Michael answers. "With your family, actually."
MARQUETTE COVE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
"Shoulda seen the other guy," Vince jokes weakly. "How's Blake?"
"The transfusion is done," Darren answers. "Now we just have to wait."
Vince nods. "He'll be okay. I know he will."
"I've tried getting in contact with Robert, but he's not answering his phone," Melissa says, sighing. "Neither is Felicia. Have you heard from either of them, Vince?"
"No," Vince says. "But your husband is gonna have his hands full defending that worthless son of his."
Melissa has nothing to say to this. There's nothing she can say to defend Alec's actions.
"I'm going to stop in for a second," Vince says. He goes into Jessica's room, noticing that sun now shines through the window. The eclipse has finally ended, and it feels like a spring day again.
But this wasn't the only surprise awaiting Vince...
"Hey you."
Vince is stunned to find Jessica awake in her hospital bed. "Oh God...you're awake!"
"Vince," Jessica croaks out.
Vince finds it hard to look at her, with the bruises and scars on her face. But he soldiers through it and sits next to Jessica, taking her hand. "Are you...are you in pain?"
"I can't really feel anything," Jessica says.
"That's the morphine," Vince responds. "But I should get Dr. Anderson so he can check you out "
"Where's Alec?" Jessica asks nervously.
"In prison," Vince says bluntly. " Farrah told us what he did to you. What he's been doing to you. And as soon as you're better, you can testify against him and get him the hell out of your life."
Jessica remains silent as Vince rails against Alec. She searches her mind for the events leading up to her hospitalization, and yet...she can't. There's nothing there. She can't remember.
"It's a long story," Felicia says. "I just got here. Robert went to see Jessica and Alec, and I came to find the two of you. How's Blake?"
"We're still waiting to see how the blood transfusion from Jack went," Darren replies.
"Jack? But he's HIV-positive," Felicia says, horrified.
"It's a longer story," Darren says. "I'm just glad you're here. But why aren't you and Robert down at the police station?"
"Police station?" Felicia demands. "Why would I need to be at the police station?"
"To be with Alec," Darren answers. "Farrah Louis, his ex-girlfriend, he's been sleeping with her. And the reason why Jessica's in the hospital is because Alec put her here. Farrah said that Alec has been hitting Jessica. Jack told me the same thing."
Felicia's heart sinks. She feels as if Darren has just stabbed her in the chest.
"That's not possible," Felicia insists.
"Tell that the MCPD," Sara pipes up.
JESSICA REYES' ROOM
"Please, call me Mr. Bale," Robert says, putting on a fake smile. "Where's Alec?"
"He's been arrested," Vince answers. "For assault and battery."
"Assault and..."
"On his wife," Vince says, pointing to Jessica's face. "Like's she a goddamn punching bag."
"Vincent, I don't have time for your games," Robert says. "Aren't we done with high school? With the tricks you used to pull on Alec and Jessica?"
"This is no trick," Vince says. "Jack confirmed it. Farrah, the bitch who's been sleeping with Alec on the side confirmed it. Jessica knows, she's awake from her coma. You son is getting locked up like the monster he is. Right, Jess?"
Robert steps forward and grabs Vince's arm. "You tread carefully when you discuss my son, do you understand?"
"Get over yourself," Vince snaps. "And find a breath mint."
"Vince, stop," Jessica says.
"Jessica, what exactly is going on here?" Robert demands.
"I don't know what Jack and Farrah are talking about...but you must have...you must have misheard them," Jesica says softly. "Yes, Alec has been sleeping with Farrah. But that's...that's it."
"Then how did you end up in here?" Vince asks, pressing the matter.
"I don't know," Jessica answers. "But I'm not...I'm not pressing charges against my husband. I can't do that Alec, not when I don't even...I don't remember."
"You remember," Vince insists. "Alec lied and said you were attacked by someone at the apartment, but "
"You heard her, Vincent," Robert says, pushing Vince toward the door. "So get the hell out of here and leave us alone. Now."
Vince stares at Jessica, dumbfounded. He can't believe she's doing this. Almost feeling guilty, Jessica turns away from Vince's stare. Unable to take any more, Vince angrily shoves Robert and storms out of the room.
WAITING AREA
"I am so sorry," Felicia says. "I don't know what else I can say."
"It's not your fault," Natalie insists. "This is...that young man's fault. He has made many bad choices in his young life."
Felicia nods. "Alec. I could kill him. I could just kill him. This is so horrifying."
"He's in lock-up," Michael says, appearing at the nurses' station. "I just called a friend down at the station."
"Thank you, Michael," Felicia says, still unsure how to react around her brother. There is far too much going on for her mind to process anything about the lab where she'd been trapped for days, so she chooses to remain silent.
"Felicia!"
Felicia turns to find Melissa approaching her. "Oh, hello Melissa."
"Have you seen Robert? Is he here?" Melissa asks.
"Oh, she's seen him," Michael says, smirking.
Felicia shoots an angry look at Michael. His antagonism certainly isn't helping his case with her.
"He's in with Jessica," Felicia replies.
"Oh, thank God," Melissa says. "I've been trying to reach him forever. You too, actually. Where the hell where you?"
"That's not important right now," Felicia insists. "What's important is that Robert and I...and you, I suppose, get down to the station and deal with Alec."
"I think he can stand to stay there for a while longer," Melissa mutters.
"Excuse me? That's my son you're talking about."
"Well, so nice of you to defend your abusive son in front of the woman whose daughter he brutalized," Melissa shoots back.
"Excuse me," Natalie says, ducking out of the conversation.
"Melissa, you're talking," Felicia says. "How about you save your opinions for court when someone gives a damn?"
Melissa rolls her eyes. "You know, you fit into your new family perfectly. You're about as corrosive as that bitch you call your sister."
"Watch your mouth, Melissa," Michael snaps.
"You two are ridiculous!" Melissa cries. "After everything she "
"Maybe everyone just needs to calm down?" Darren suggests. He hopes he can diffuse the situation, but he knows that once Melissa and Felicia go at it, peace is rather futile.
"We need to get our son," Robert announces, exiting Jessica's room. "Those charges are bullshit."
"What?" Darren asks.
"They're lies," Robert says. "Cooked up by that diseased boyfriend of yours."
Darren resists the urge to slug his uncle. "Jack has no reason to make up anything." Which isn't exactly true, but Darren sees no reason to inform his uncle just yet. "And besides, Vince got Farrah to confess."
"I'm sure he was very persuasive," Robert mutters. "But the bottom line is, Jessica is awake. And she says that Alec did not attack her."
"Oh thank God," Felicia says, hugging Robert. "That's wonderful."
Michael watches Melissa flinch the moment Felicia and Robert embrace. He keeps his smile to himself this time, yet he is now positive that he will be able to use the video of Felicia and Robert having sex to his advantage.
"Does Jessica even remember things clearly? She's been through quite the trauma," Melissa reminds everyone.
"What are you trying to say, Melissa?" Robert demands.
"I'm just saying we need to be cautious," Melissa says. "This is a very delicate situation. One I would have thought you'd be quicker to respond to. For as long as we've been at this hospital, you haven't been "
"Oh, shut the hell up, Melissa," Felicia snaps. She's surprised by her own anger, though she can hardly blame herself given the circumstances. "Robert, regardless of anything else, we need to get to the police station to show Alec that we're here for him."
"You know, I support Alec too," Melissa says. "I was here when Jessica was first brought into the hospital."
Felicia outstretches her hands as if Melissa has just given her salvation. "Oh, well thank God for that."
"I left my own son with a sitter, Phillip too, in order to be here," Melissa continues.
"Good lord, woman," Felicia says, raising her voice. "What's next? Another tirade about how I stole your baby? About how I caused your miscarriage? Because I am officially over it. I have apologized and apologized and "
"Valerie's the one who should be apologizing."
"Huh?"
"Well, if you around to...you know what, never mind any of that. Aaron was checking a tape from one of my sessions, and the end of the tape...it showed that Valerie had been listening on everything," Melissa explains.
The others are confused as to what Melissa is getting at. Melissa takes a step back, using the nurses' desk to lean against and keep her balance.
"That crazy psycho was talking to someone on the recording, I don't know who. But she was gloating about my miscarriage," Melissa says. "About how she caused it. And because I blacked out and Felicia was just blackout drunk...she got away it." Melissa shakes her head at Felicia. "And all this from a woman who supposedly cares so much about you."
BLAKE THOMAS' ROOM
"Our lives are so fucking screwed up," Vince says, laughing. "I mean, my ex-best friend is in jail for beating my ex-girlfriend. And that's not even getting into all of the shit I had to deal with in New York. You know my Dad? He's still alive. Yeah, I know...it's crazy, right? But, um, maybe not so crazy to you...since your dead brother is still alive and all. But my Dad, it turns out he faked his death and just left town. He's with some other woman now...I saw them, and when I tried calling out to him, he just ignored me."
Tears begin to form in Vince's eyes. He stands up and walks away from the bed, facing out at the window.
"And look at you," Vince continues. "Your ex-boyfriend's boyfriend put you in the hospital. Your other ex-boyfriend is lurking around the hospital with the shiftiest fucking eyes I've ever seen. It's like we're on the damn Blackthornes or something."
"Darren..."
Vince spins around. He can see Blake's eyes blinking. Vince rushes back to Blake's side. "Blake! You're awake!" Vince takes Blake's hand again.
"Darren?" Blake asks, still not completely coherent.
"No, it's Vince. People keep coming out of comas around me...I should probably make sure I stay away from wherever Mark is."
Blake tries to sit up in the bed. He uses Vince to propel himself into an upright position. "It's good to see you, Darren." Before Vince can react, Blake leans forward and kisses him. Stunned, Vince doesn't react immediately.
Once Vince pulls away from him, Blake's eyes open completely. "Oh! Vince! Oh God...I'm so "
Blake doesn't get a chance to apologize, though. Reacting on impulse, Vince pulls Blake head forward and into another kiss. And this time, Vince doesn't pull away. It's Vince's tongue brushing against Blake's that causes them to separate.
Blake and Vince stare at one another, breathing heavily, not saying a word. Neither of them knows what to say.
After a few seconds, Vince is the first to break the silence. "...what was THAT?"
